The NB-MAP Corporate Champion sets the standard for industry excellence in workplace teaching and learning. NB Power is being recognized for it's dedication to on-the-job learning, as demonstrated by their extensive in-house mentorship program and ongoing partnership with NB-MAP.

Marque Construction has been committed to workplace mentorship since the inception of NB-MAP; as one of the organization's original partners and testing grounds, Marque was instrumental in the development of the NB-MAP model and core curriculum, and remains ahead of the pack in it's ongoing dedication to workplace mentorship.

Outstanding Apprentice: Eric Brideau, Acadian Construction/Local 1386, Block 4 Carpentry

The Outstanding Apprentice consistently demonstrates the five A's of apprenticeship: Attitude, Aptitude, Attendance, Ask questions, & Advocate. Eric started working with Acadian Construction as a labourer, where he was curious, hard-working, dedicated to high safety standards, and motivated to pursue status as a Journeyman Carpenter. The team at Acadian Construction sees a bright future for Eric in a leadership role, as well as a workplace mentor to his own apprentices.


Master Mentor: Tim Moore, Site Manager for Jacobs Industrial, Journeyman Pipefitter

The Master Mentor embodies the qualities of effective workplace mentors everyday, and goes above and beyond in their dedication to apprentice development. Tim was nominated by his peers for his openness, his tendency to encourage and solicit feedback, and his general willingness to share his experiences with apprentices and other mentors. He exemplifies how an individual can start out as an apprentice and, through hard work, education, and dedication become a leader.
